ACF appointed to advise the Australian Industry and Skills Committee

ACF president Neil Abrahams said it is a significant step for the ACF as it is now in a position to help shape and guide the industry in ways that are relevant to the needs of chefs.

“Finally chefs will now be making decisions for chefs about culinary training in Australia,” he said.

“No longer will the needs of the cooking industry be decided by non-chefs.”

The Tourism, Travel and Hospitality IRC is responsible for thirty-three national training package qualifications relevant to jobs across a range of industries including hospitality, accommodation, tourism, travel and events.

Other members of the council include Defence Catering, Compass Group, The Star Entertainment Group, QANTAS, Clubs Australia, and Restaurant and Catering Industry Association of Australia.
