David Jones and Neil Perry partner to rollout new food strategy across its stores
The food hall marks the first in a $100 million rollout of food outlets across its stores nationwide. To bring some culinary credentials to its new offering they have partnered with Neil Perry to deliver its gourmet offering of staples such as chicken sandwiches, Margherita pizzas and shucked oysters.
David Jones chief executive John Dixon described the new the 280-seat restaurant in Bondi Junction as “iconic Australian restaurant in one of Australia’s iconic retailing centres”.
“We are trying to connect and inspire people who really like food,” Dixon said.
The restaurant aims to act as a sales tool for the upmarket food products available in store.
“It’s about editing the choice down,” said Perry. “It is the best Australian and world produce, and at the heart of the store is this beautiful big restaurant and cafe, everything you can buy can be tasted in the restaurant.”
The next food outlet to open will be David Jones Wollongong.
