Fans call for Gordon Ramsay to take over from Marco Pierre White in Australian version of Hell’s Kitchen
Airing on Channel Seven, the show is a version of the highly successful brand that has aired in the UK and US, with potty-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay earning legions of fans as the face of the show.
Viewers described the show as ‘boring’, calling for White to be replaced by Ramsay. An ironic twist of fate as Ramsay was one of White’s early kitchen protégés until the two eventually fell out over an argument about who had the biggest ego.
Fans of the show took to social media with some acidic comments. ‘Channel 7 once again butchering a TV Show. Well done jerk faces,’ said one Twitter user. Another tweet was more blunt: ‘Hells Kitchen summed up in 2 words F**KING RUBBISH!’
‘Well. That’s was sh*t. Back to the proper HK which is Gordon’s,’ said another. ‘Let’s take everything good from the US show and get rid of it.’
‘Hell’s Kitchen needs Gordon Ramsay to make this worth watching,’ another viewer wrote.
Ramsay starred in all 16 seasons of the US version of the reality series as well as the first season of the UK run. However, White appeared in front of cameras in the UK in seasons three and four.
