Justin Hemmes’ continues Sydney spending spree with Bondi pub
Merivale will take over the Royal Hotel Bondi in July 2018, bringing the group’s portfolio of Sydney pubs to 13.
Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes reportedly paid more than $25 million for the hotel, which publican Geoff Moulding has owned for the last 40 years.
This is the first Bondi property for the group, joining Merivale’s recent acquisitions such as The Collaroy in the Northern Beaches, The Vic on the Park in Marrickville and The Tennyson Hotel in Mascot.
Merivale said in a statement it will reveal future plans for the Bondi venue in due course.
