Nelly Robinson to represent Australia at Obsession18
Now in its 18th year, the event has hosted some of Australia’s best talent alongside the world’s greatest international chefs. Next year, Robinson will return home to the UK to take part in Obsession18, which will be held at Lancashire’s Northcote Manor.
Interestingly, Robinson started his career as a pot-washer at Michelin-starred Northcote at the age of 14, the same year as the very first Obsession festival, before progressing to apprentice level the next year.
In February 2018, he will be collaborating with Kirk Haworth, owner of London pop-up restaurant Plates, for a one-night dinner as part of the festival.
“Growing up in this industry, you have dreams you want to achieve, and cooking at Obsession is truly one of my bucket list experiences,” said Robinson.
“To represent my own restaurant nel. with my executive pastry chef Jason Brown, and to return to Northcote and my dear mentor Nigel [Haworth] (chef patron at Northcote), will be an absolute career highlight – not to mention putting nel. alongside some of the great names in the culinary world that have been at Obsession over the years.”
As well as Robinson’s dinner on February 3, Obsession18 will also feature some of the world’s great culinary talents, including three Michelin-starred chef Jean-Phillipe Blondet (The Dorchester) and Hiroshi Nakamichi of three Michelin-starred Restaurant Molière.
