New look for South Coogee Bowling Club

The South Coogee Bowling Club has re-opened after extensive renovations, with Bistro on the Greens, the new family-friendly addition to Sydney’s Eastern suburbs dining scene.

The new ‘local’, Bistro on the Greens opens at South Coogee Bowling Club

Restauranteurs Filomena and Gary Di Paola, of Bankstown’s La Piazza, have returned to their roots in the East for their new venture.

Head chef Ahmed Istanbouli, who worked with the Di Paolas for 10 years as sous chef at La Piazza, describes the Bistro on the Greens menu as “simple, accessible for everyone and perfect for sharing”.

There are relaxed Italian favourites such as caprese salad, a selection of classic pastas, arancini di zucca and an extensive woodfired pizza menu, as well as bistro staples like beef nachos, grilled salmon and parmigiana. There’s also the Greens ‘Mega Burger’ with black angus beef pattie, caramelised onion, pineapple, bacon and Swiss cheese.
