When it opens in late 2018, HSW will encompass 3.4 hectares of Brisbane’s riverside, located in prime position under the Story Bridge.

Howard Smith Wharves will open along Brisbane’s riverside in 2018.

Jonathan Barthelmess (The Apollo, The Apollo Ginza, Cho Cho San) will set up a Greek restaurant and bar, Matt Yazbek (Toko Group) will open a Toko-branded izakaya-style restaurant and bar, and Andrew Baturo (The Gresham, Popolo and Libertine) will launch a 180-seat Hong Kong-inspired venue, Stanley, with Kym Machin (Bare Bones Society, Urbane) taking the helm in the kitchen.

HSW will also feature an onsite craft brewery and coffee roaster, an octagonal bar called the Overwater Bar, and a 5-star Art Series hotel. Halcyon House executive chef Ben Devlin will come on board to oversee the events catering.

HSW director Adam Flaskas said he is thrilled to be working with such high-calibre restaurateurs.

“The fact that so many nuanced cuisines and unexpected cross-cultural blends are represented in these restaurants is a testament to the diverse character of Brisbane,” he said.
